Don’t kale her ~2019~ vibe! Jill Duggar, can aficionado, finally seems to be venturing into the produce section of her local grocery store. The former Counting On star, 27, who was given the boot from her family’s hit reality show thanks to her Twitter-loving husband, Derick Dillard, shared two kale-inspired dishes on her blog, and we’ve never been more proud.

Up first? Easy Potato and Kale Soup. “I love soups with kale and that are easy to throw together! This soup is creamy, flavorful and has a little bit of spice to it, but it can be toned down by decreasing the amount of red and black pepper,” she wrote. “Both of my boys eat this soup like the recipe says, but they did comment about it being a little spicy.” TBH, it (actually) doesn’t sound half bad. Check out the ingredients below:

1 pound ground turkey

1 T Italian seasoning

1 t. red pepper

2 t. black pepper

1 t. sage

3 T. garlic

1/2 stick butter (1/4 cup)

6 cups whole milk

1 quart chicken broth

4 medium potatoes, scrubbed, diced

1 onion, peeled, diced

4 cups kale, chopped into bite-sized pieces

salt (to taste)

Next up: Kale Chips. This three-ingredient snack sounds ideal for when you need that 3 p.m. energy boost — and they’re likely much better for you than a bag of Lays. “Some of my sisters started making these a few years ago and they continue to be a tasty snack that we love to make,” Jill wrote on her website.

The recipes are a far cry than the “God awful” chicken salad she made or “Momma’s Stew,” which consisted of canned ingredients, ketchup, and sugar. Yes, sugar. Now, the comments on her Instagram range from “My kids could live off kale chips! So yummy!!!!!” and “Great recipe,” compared to, “Jill, you have to wake up and learn to cook for real, not just throwing cans of stuff together.” Ouch! Here’s to hoping J has ditched the can opener for good.
