There’s a long list of times that Jill Duggar has pretended her husband Derick Dillard was the absolute best for doing the absolute least. She’s regularly trying to convince her Instagram fans to love Derick, and, TBH, they’re just not having it. But in today’s #TBT, the former Counting On star’s act of love for his wife seems even sadder than usual. Because back in 2016, the 27-year-old dubbed her “sweet hubby” the “bestest” for bringing her cereal in bed.

No, we’re not kidding. The now-father-of-two brought her breakfast in bed, and Jill absolutely lost her mind and had to take a photo so she could post about it immediately. But he didn’t make her pancakes or an omelette or even cook anything at all. He just poured some Froot Loops in a bowl, cut up some fruit, and shook a couple crackers out of the box and onto the plate. Sure, it’s not nothing, but it’s also just barely something. Check it out.

“My sweet hubby @derickdillard brought me breakfast in bed,” Jill captioned the shot. “He’s the ‘bestest’!” Her followers, though, didn’t exactly agree. And they didn’t see anything particularly gourmet about the meal either. “Bestest isn’t a word and that food looks gross,” commented one Instagram user, with another writing, “Looks like a very unhealthy breakfast… Is that Froot Loops?”

Look, we’re not about to knock Froot Loops, because we love a sugary cereal as much the next person. It just seems high praise for some pretty low effort. Like, he didn’t even toast any bread, you know? Then again, this was around the time they were eating salad out of their son’s blocks bucket, so maybe an actual plate and bowl was the height of luxury. Still, we’re pretty sure that plate is paper. Sorry, Jill, you can keep telling us about how amazing your “sweet hubby” is — but we’re just not buying it. Let us know when he whips up some pancakes and eggs and fresh squeeze orange juice like all the good husbands in commercials, okay?
