Jessa Duggar Encourages Moms To ‘Look For The Humor In Life’ After A Spurgeon Video Fail
Whoops! Jessa Duggar tried to capture a cute video of her son, Spurgeon, and things didn’t go exactly as planned. But instead of getting down on herself about it, Jessa used the moment to encourage other moms out there to “look for the humor in life,” especially when kids are involved.
On Wednesday, Nov. 14, Jessa posted a video of her son on her Instagram, and wrote, “I wanted to send a video of him to grandma. He just wanted to say “cheese”. And the way he looked up towards the ceiling and held a pose. 😂 🤷🏻♀️ What in the world?? I’ve never seen this from him before. 😆 Ha!” See the adorable moment for yourself in the video below!
Jessa went on to explain that the video, “pretty much represents life with kids. Mom has her plans or ideas, and kid has his— and the two don’t always mesh.” She admitted that when that happens, it’s “challenging and frustrating,” but it can also be funny, too.
The cute video started out with Spurgeon getting ready for his close-up, and saying “cheese!” only for his mom to ask him to say hi to his grandma instead, which he refused to do. “I wanna say cheese,” he pouted, and when Jessa told him he could, the kid transformed straight back into his camera-ready self. He stared up at the ceiling and seemingly waited for his mother to take a photo, which she of course didn’t do because she’s actually doing a video (it’s OK, Spurgy…we’ve all been there).
Jessa told Spurgeon his pose is “lovely,” and she’s not lying. It’s definitely an adorable move on Spurgeon’s part, and proves how much he’s used to having his picture taken by now.
Jessa concluded what she wrote about the humorous moment between mother and son with, “God gives us the ability to see humor in our daily circumstances. Laughter definitely plays its part in keeping us close, and in melting away frustrations. 😄 Mamas, look for the humor in life—and even if you can’t laugh in the moment, take time to recount later on and have a good chuckle. It helps to keeps us sane.” And we think that’s pretty good advice for anyone, not just moms.
