‘Counting On’ Star Jessa Duggar Claps Back After Troll Says Her Newly Renovated Bedroom Looks Like a ‘Dorm Room’
Not everyone is lovin’ it. Jessa Duggar shared photos from a bedroom makeover she and her husband, Ben Seewald, completed, and she seemed very happy with the transformation. However, several fans in the comments of the March 30 post were not feeling the renovation; one of them even said it looks like “a dorm room.” Eek.
“Another project we completed recently was our master bedroom minimalist makeover! ☺️” Jessa, 26, wrote. “The walls were a dark grey, so I started out by painting them the same as the living room — Revere Pewter (Benjamin Moore). Really brightened up the room and made it feel bigger!” She added that she and Ben, 23, actually sold much of the furniture in the room, and noted that their mattress and box spring are now on the floor. “Can we just pause for a moment and celebrate the fact that there’s no more dusting/cleaning/swiping toys, socks and other random items out from under the bed?!” the Counting On star wrote.
Not everyone was a fan of the makeover, and they made their feelings clear in the comments. “All about the minimalist lifestyle, but this looks like a dorm room. Sorry!,” one person wrote. Jessa had no time for such remarks; she replied, “Haha! Personal preference, I suppose. I guess we like the dorm room look then!”
Another person responded in the comments, “Am I the only one that really loves the before picture more?” In fact, that was a pretty common refrain — one person even wrote, “Oh my goodness, I thought the first picture was the beautiful finished result!” Oops!
Jessa and Ben also completed a “home project” in another part of the house just days before the bedroom renovation. On March 29, Jessa shared the results of that endeavor, which included repainting the living room a lighter color, a new rug, and a few new plants to adorn the space. People seemed much more positive about that makeover, and Jessa got compliments like “looks amazing!!!” and “Looks great and I personally love the lighter colors on the walls.”
Eagle-eyed fans likely noticed that Jessa got some comments from family members on both transformation posts as well. On the bedroom makeover, her sister Jinger Duggar commented, “Love it, Jess! So simple. So cute!” On the living room renovation, either Austin Forsyth or Joy Duggar wrote, “It looks so good, Jess! Great work!!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👍🏼” on their shared account. Jill Duggar added, “👏🏼So inspiring!” and Anna Duggar said, “looks so nice🙌🏼.” Guess those Duggars really like their emoji.
