Jennifer Aniston Follows Her Ex-Husband Justin Theroux on Instagram After Joining Social Media

After Jennifer Aniston was hesitant to join social media — specifically Instagram — the actress has officially joined the app and is even following her ex-husband Justin Theroux! On Tuesday, October 15, the 50-year-old’s account was verified. So, besides Justin, 48, who else is Jen following on the ‘gram? Of course, plenty of her famous friends including Reese Witherspoon, Jimmy Kimmel, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow and David Schwimmer.

It’s no surprise the Friends alum keeps in touch with her ex since their split was amicable. “We are two best friends who have decided to part ways as a couple but look forward to continuing our cherished friendship,” they said in a statement in February 2018 after less than three years of marriage. Since then, The Leftovers actor and the brunette beauty reunited when their beloved dog named Dolly passed away in July.

In Jen’s first post, she obviously gave Friends fans what they wanted by posting a selfie of the cast together. “And now we’re Instagram FRIENDS too,” she captioned a snap of herself with Lisa, Courteney, Matt LeBlanc, David and Matthew Perry. “HI, INSTAGRAM.” Of course, the California native’s followers couldn’t help but gush over the sweet reunion. One person wrote, “This is everything,” while another added, “FINALLY.” A third person chimed in, writing, “I think you may just break the internet here, Jen. Welcome welcome welcome.” And indeed she did! Shortly after people learned Jen was on social media, her page shut down for a few minutes.

Just a few days ago, The Morning Show starlet was toying with the idea of posting snaps on the internet. “What you resist, persists. I think it is something that is a part of our world now, and it’s not going away,” she told Entertainment Tonight on October 13. Reese — who stars alongside Jen in their new show on AppleTV+ — might have even influenced her to give the app a shot. “Listening to you talk about it and how you can actually kind of have a little bit more control over the narrative that’s out there and right some wrongs and some silly things that God knows are said … often, sounds intriguing,” she said to the Legally Blonde actress, 43.

However, the Golden Globe winner hinted that we might see her on our newsfeeds sooner than later. “Maybe,” she said at the time. “You never know.”
