People are not happy with her. Jenelle Evans of Teen Mom 2 fame is somewhat of a polarizing figure, and on April 24 and April 25, she tweeted a couple of things about “predators” — including her dog — going after her baby chicks that set a lot of people off yet again. Check out our gallery below to learn why Jenelle has upset people this time.
Jenelle, 27, and her husband, David Eason, have a little homestead farm on their property.

The Teen Mom franchise star continued, “Glad I was able to catch the entire process on film! 💓🐔 If you’re wondering how to #DIY or just want to watch … check out the new video at YouTube.com/JenelleEason ✨🎥 #Homestead #FarmLife.” (You know, in case you have nothing better to do today.)

It’s the babies of the chickens on Jenelle’s farm that got her into hot water on Twitter in late April.

Uh Oh
She added in the next tweet, “Don’t get a pitbull if you plan on having a #Homestead cuzzzz he just wants our chicks really bad 🙄. But he was here first sooo.” That didn’t exactly go over well with her followers.

Your Fault
“It’s all in how you train them. It’s not the dog’s fault, it’s you the owner for letting him do this,” one fan wrote to the Teen Mom 2 star. “You should not own animals if you don’t know how to train them.”

No Issue
Another person tweeted at Jenelle, “We had free roam chickens on our place growing up and had multiple big dogs. Never had an issue? Maybe it’s you?”

People Are Mad
Jenelle then addressed the criticism on Twitter on April 25. “So I hear people are mad some of my chicks died from my dog … ” she began a tweet.

Justifying
She then justified what happened by adding, “Well they are free range chicks. We also had a hawk, snake, and possum attack.”

Stuff Happens
Jenelle concluded, “This is why I said I need a llama, but no matter what stuff like this happens when you have a #Homestead 😓.”

Not Happy
Not everyone was thrilled with that response. “I have a homestead, have yet to lose a chicken. If they aren’t protected then shouldn’t be free range,” someone tweeted at Jenelle.

Read a Book
“As chicks, they need to be contained and protected since they can’t do so themselves,” another person replied. “Get a book about chicken raising first.”

Responsibility
One person really came for Jenelle with a long comment that read, “My mom’s free-range chickens have never been attacked by a dog, much less her dog … that’s why [you] put up fencing around your HOUSE. Hawks can’t be helped but there’s ways to keep snakes away. If it’s your dog that attacked, it’s just gonna keep on doing it any chance it gets.”

What Do You Think?
Jenelle retweeted a few messages of support but otherwise hasn’t addressed the controversy again. Do you agree that she should have protected the chickens from her dog? Let us know in the comments below!
