It seems that no matter what Jenelle Evans does, she gets hate online. The Teen Mom 2 is a controversial figure among people who watch the show, and while she and husband David Eason definitely have their own fans, they’ve got a lot of trolls, too. Sometimes, though, it’s clear that the star really has crossed the line — and that’s what some MTV viewers are saying about her latest Instagram Story snaps. On Thursday, March 28, the family headed out to a restaurant where they write inappropriate jokes about the customers on paper hats. And when the star’s followers saw the “jokes,” they thought the Easons had crossed a line. Check out the gallery below to see the pictures Jenelle posted and what everyone had to say.

Jenelle has posted some controversial Instagrams in the past.

Earlier in March, she shared photos on her Story of her kids playing with toy guns. And she gave Jace a toy gun for Christmas, worrying fans after David’s December shooting scandal. But the family insisted it was fine. “They know how to handle them so there are less chances of accidents or curiosity with guns,” David told one commenter.

Guns aren’t the only controversial topic.

In February, she posted another Story where her husband seemingly confessed to drug use, claiming that he “took a f–king Adderall” and “shouldn’t have tooken [sic] that s–t.”

She’s gotten hate for defending David.

When fans called out his ignorant, bigoted, or racist posts, she insisted that he wasn’t any of those things. “His best friend is black,” she told Us Weekly in January. “he also has no problem with gay people.”

Fans weren’t having it.

“Jesus Christ, Jenelle. You have never sounded more like an ignorant hillbilly,” wrote one Twitter user. “Having African ancestors does not make him black. There are white people in Africa too, moron,” added another.

Even Ensley’s been roped into the drama.

In January, the mom-of-three showed a video of her toddler daughter watching a scary PG-13 movie and laughing when her daughter was afraid. “She’s sooo scared of this Marvel Venom movie,” Jenelle wrote on Instagram, adding a crying-laughing emoji.

Now, Jenelle’s kids are part of the drama once again.

While heading out for lunch, Jenelle and David took Jace and his daughter Maryssa to a restaurant where the gimmick is that the staff is jokingly mean to their customers. One of the classic things they do is make paper hats for everyone and write something insulting on them.

Jenelle didn’t come up with the jokes.

But fans thought the hats that Jace and Maryssa were given were way too inappropriate for them — and they blamed the parents for not speaking up about and finding the whole thing funny instead.

Jenelle showed off the hats on her Instagram Story.

On hers, the wait staff had written, “On my knees more than Tim Tebow.” The mom-of-three — who’s posted some pretty raunchy stuff with her husband before — shared it with more crying-laughing emojis.

Maryssa’s made a joke at her step-mom’s expense.

“Future star on Teen Mom” read the hat. Though it was clearly at Jenelle’s expense, it also implied that Maryssa, who is only 11 years old, would become a teen mom herself in the coming years.

Jace’s had another media callback.

“40-year-old virgin in the making,” it said, referencing the 2005 comedy. Jenelle didn’t seem to mind the humor, writing, “I loveee himmm tho!” when she shared the picture with her almost three million Instagram followers.

David’s was pretty sexual, too.

On his hat, they’d written, “Inch-and-a-half of pure pleasure.” As Jenelle shared a video of herself, her husband, and his hat on her Instagram story, step-daughter Maryssa could be heard in the background asking, “What does an inch-and-a-half of pleasure mean?”

The kids didn’t seem to get the joke.

But that didn’t stop fans from accusing the parents of knowing better. “Anyone else think this is funny? No? Just Jenelle? OK,” wrote one on Twitter. Another added, “Uhhggg, it’s so disturbing! So much about both of their parenting! And I’m not one to judge someone else’s parenting!”

They were seriously upset.

“That’s extremely inappropriate, especially because they are preteens and on Teen Mom,” a third commented. “And making any reference to when a child will lose their virginity is just vulgar. This coming from [Jenelle and David] doesn’t surprise me, but it does show what s–tty people they are.”

Others were worried what Maryssa and Jace will think when they’re older.

Though the jokes on the hats may go over the heads of an 11 and 9-year-old for now, these pictures will be in the public eye forever. “Cool, cool. Embarrassing your children publicly while simultaneously sexualizing them is soooo edgy,” a fan wrote.

Plenty of people were familiar with the restaurant.

And they shared their own stories about the insults they’d received with their families and how they were much more age-appropriate, instead teasing about bed-wetting or nose-picking. “I would be mad AF if they wrote those things on my kids’ hats,” commented one. “How could you let someone place that on your child’s head?” agreed another.

The hate was real.

“Some people just want to play on team ratchet,” one fan put it simply. Let’s hope that at least Barbara Evans agrees the hats are funny. After all, Jenelle recently said that her mom was the only woman who helped her “get through it all” — so maybe they can tackle this scandal together, too.
