Jenelle Evans Didn’t Score an Invite to Her Own Kid’s Birthday Party
It would appear that Jenelle Evans and her mother, Barbara, can’t put their differences aside — especially when it comes to the Teen Mom 2 star’s oldest son, Jace. Tomorrow, Aug. 2, marks Jace’s eighth birthday — and Babs, who has custody of the pint-sized reality star, decided to throw the adorable elementary schooler a birthday party… And didn’t invite his mom!
“She’s mad I didn’t invite her to the wedding I guess so she said she was doing her own birthday with Jace,” Jenelle told Radar. As In Touch previously reported, Barbara didn’t score an invite to Jenelle’s Sept. 23 nuptials to fiancé David Eason.
“She’s been saying she’s having her wedding, running around with her family of friends, but you know what she says? ‘My mother Barbara is not invited,’” Barbara previously explained. “She’s not inviting me to her own wedding. It’s very painful.”
The mother/daughter duo have had a contentious relationship due to Jace’s custody issue. Barbara has had primary custody of Jace since he was an infant, and as fans of the MTV reality show know, the mother-of-three has since been attempting to regain custody of her son. In her memoir, Read Between the Lines: From the Diary of a Teen Mom, Jenelle alleged that her mother tricked her into losing custody by encouraging her to go out and “relax” and then calling Child Protective Services to claim that the then-teen was out partying instead of bonding with her son.

Jenelle had a recent victory — albeit minor — in custody court when the judge ruled that she will have Jace on the weekends, holidays, and for the summer. Shortly after the ruling, the 25-year-old shared her disappointment, “[I] just want to spend time with my son. He will be home one day, but today wasn’t the day, sadly. I’m really happy we could come to a decision for Jace, but it doesn’t change my feelings towards my mom. She still isn’t giving up my son to me but I will fight again in the future when the time is right.”
