Director James Toback Accused of Sexual Harassment by Nearly 40 Women

A total of 38 women have come forward with sexual harassment allegations against American film director and screenwriter, James Toback. The Oscar-nominated star is the most recent Tinseltown creep to be outed for his inappropriate behavior, in the wake of the Harvey Weinstein scandal.

The filmmaker behind the semi-autobiographical 1987 romantic comedy, The Pick-up Artist, reportedly lured women into his bedroom by bragging about who he's worked with and telling them he could make them famous. Guardians of the Galaxy director, James Gunn, said he's been warning people about James for more than 20 years and that he knew 15 women who claimed to have been "accosted" by the writer. "When I lived in New York, in the ‘nineties, this dude was EVERYWHERE. I have personally met at least FIFTEEN WOMEN, probably more, who say that he’s accosted them in NYC. He essentially goes up to women and says, 'Hey, I’m James Toback, and I’m a famous director, and I feel like there’s a connection between us.' Then he shows them some article on himself or some other artifact to prove he is who he is, and tries to get them to go somewhere else with him," he wrote in a lengthy Facebook post.
