Grab your backpacks and bagged lunches because Derick Dillard is going back to school! The former Counting On star — who was fired for his transphobic comments on Jazz Jennings in November — is reportedly hitting the books after nearly a year of being unemployed. A source close to the disgraced dad recently revealed he's attending the School of Ministry at Cross Church in Fayetteville, AR — the same church that his in-laws, Jim Bob and Michelle, go to.

"Derick does work with the college ministry. He's not an employee though," the source dished to Radar Online. "He helps with whatever's needed."

They added that Jill also helps, but it doesn't seem like she has much say in the matter. "She's his wife, so Jill's ministry is pretty much whatever Derick's ministry is."

Recently, Jill took to Instagram to share a snap with her boys, Israel, 3, and Samuel, 11 months, but Derick was noticeably absent. "We just voted!" she wrote in the caption of a snap from May 22. "Teaching 'em young the privilege of letting your voice be heard… and took both boys with me since Derick was at work. lol." Unfortunately for Derick, people began dragging him in the comments almost immediately, and one even asked, "Is he working at Twitter?"

The 29-year-old takes to his favorite platform often, mainly just to spew hatred towards the LGBTQ community. Most recently, he took aim at the cast of Lost in Transition. "I really hope this is a series showing the devastation that mental illness causes, rather than presuming that these challenges are simply evidences of an improving society. #optimism."

Prior to all the drama, Derick graduated from Oklahoma State University and worked as an accountant at Walmart — but was recently slammed for not earning his CPA. "He's pretty lazy and dumb, so he did the bare minimum to get his degree but wasn't smart enough to become a CPA," one person speculated on reddit. "I don't think it's a worthless degree. It's a degree from a reputable school; I just think he is worthless and lazy." Another agreed adding, "That's kind of my theory too. I mean he had to try, honestly. My husband's program director pretty blatantly told him that his accounting degree is useless without the CPA, and that's public knowledge to anyone who has done any reading about accounting."

Well, at least he's doing something in his spare time! Not to mention, it sounds way more fun than his last gig where he drove students around during a weekend of worshipping at the Student Leadership University's Lift Tour.
