‘Tis the season — for cute baby pics featuring all kinds of flannel and pumpkins and fun costumes. Just a few days ago, we officially celebrated the first day of fall — and so did the Duggar family. Joy-Anna Duggar and her husband Austin Forsyth must’ve been feeling particularly festive, because they took to Instagram to welcome the new season on Monday, Sept. 24.

Though they don’t post too often, they did take the opportunity to share a new pic of their son Gideon on their Instagram story, and it was just too cute. The photo featured their little one crawling outside on the grass in the crisp autumn air. And, of course, he’s wearing the requisite flannel — as well as the biggest smile we’ve ever seen. “It’s FALL yall!!!” his family captured the sweet shot.

We’re pretty much in love with this photo. Really, any picture of Joy’s son can basically melt our hearts. And every time we see him, we can’t help but be struck by how much he looks like his dad. Fans agree, joking on reddit, “He looks more like Austin than Austin looks like Austin…” Another commenter added, “Are there ANY Duggar genes in that kid? No? None?”

The family’s followers also dubbed him the cutest of all the Duggar grandchildren. Though some of the other kids are pretty cute too, it’s hard to argue when you’re looking at this face. At just seven months old, it’s clear the kid already has personality in spades. He’s always grinning or making silly faces. We’re high-key obsessed.

But though Gideon seems like he’s pretty much the perfect baby, that doesn’t mean it’s all been smooth sailing for Joy and Austin. In a recent episode of Counting On, the couple revealed that parenthood hasn’t exactly been as easy as they thought it would be. “I knew that my mom had gone through a lot with all of us kids, but like I didn’t think it was that hard just because I’d always taken care of kids myself. But it’s given me a whole new appreciation for moms out there that have kids,” Joy said.

Austin had a lot to learn, too. “I hadn’t really ever changed a diaper before we had Gideon,” he admitted. “And then with Joy’s C-section, and her being kinda bed-ridden and just not really being able to get out of bed much… She probably changed maybe five diapers the first two weeks. So [it was] like diaper boot camp. I got broke in.”

It may have been a learning curve, but it seems like the new parents got there eventually. Now, they’re enjoying the time they have with their son. As for us, well, we’ve reluctantly accepted that we’ll probably never see Gideon all dressed up for Halloween — but we’re hoping to see pictures of him hitting the pumpkin patch soon.
