He just can’t do anything right, can he? In a new post, former Counting On star Jill Duggar praised her husband, Derick Dillard, for grabbing takeout for the couple — but fans weren’t impressed. “When the kids are sick and your hubby picks up date night dinner on the way home, 😍🍣” the mom-of-two wrote on Instagram. “@derickdillard you’re the best! #lovemyhubby❤️.” Her followers didn’t seem to agree, though, calling the move the “bare minimum” that he could do. In the comments, they gave the law school student plenty of flack. Watch the video above to see some of their comments, and don’t forget to subscribe to our YouTube Channel.

This has become something of a habit for Jill, Derick, and their Instagram followers. In the past, the 27-year-old has frequently shared that her husband is the #besthubbyever. Every time, fans chime in to let her know that what she’s complimenting husband on is something that he should be expected to do. When she shared that the 29-year-old had given her a foot rub, one commenter snapped back, “Well he should have lots of time for foot rubs and back rubs, the man don’t work!!” And when she posted that he’d made a romantic meal for them at home, another complained, “Does he ever take her out?”

But the fact that TLC viewers aren’t Derick Dillard’s biggest fans isn’t exactly new. It’s been speculated that even other members of the Duggar family aren’t exactly fond of him, and who can blame them? The star just can’t seem to stay out of hot water on social media, frequently stirring up scandals with his controversial comments — like all those times he attacked Jazz Jennings or went after Parkland shooting victims on Twitter. Bringing home takeout for dinner isn’t exactly the same thing, but we get that some fans just aren’t even here for the “bare minimum” of him.
