Praise Jesus! Joy-Anna Duggar Seemingly Has a Job, Is Listed as a ‘Staff Member’ at Fort Rock
We never thought we’d see the day! Joy-Anna Duggar is seemingly employed if a new video posted to the FollowtheForsyths YouTube channel is to be believed. The video has her listed as a “Staff Member,” and hey, it’s better than nothin’, right?
For those of you who may not be aware, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s daughter Joy, 21, married Austin Forsyth, and his parents Terry and Roxanne Forsyth are friends of the Duggar family. They own Fort Rock Family Camp, and now it looks like Joy might actually do some work around the site as a member of the Forsyth family. Say what?! Yes, a former Duggar girl has a job! This is pretty exciting news for anyone who has been hoping at least one of the J-girls would break the mold and not just be a wife and mom (not that there’s anything wrong with that, but it’s all the Duggars seem to know, so … ).
But don’t get too excited just yet. Fort Rock doesn’t seem to provide the typical, relaxed family camping experience. It is actually known for its controversial family counseling programs, and it’s not 100 percent clear what Joy actually does there, or even if she’s allowed to do much at all.
Just as one example, Fort Rock once had an event featuring No Greater Joy Ministries’ pastor Michael Pearl and his wife Debi — a couple who allegedly preach methods of disciplining children that many consider abusive. If that’s the usual sort of programming the camp and the Forsyths put on, it’s definitely a little worrisome that Joy might be getting even more involved with the organization.
But it’s not totally clear just how involved Joy is anyway. She spends the majority of the video posted to the YouTube account gazing at her husband, who explains the programs at Fort Rock and what families can hope to get out of their stays there. It’s never explained if Joy is some sort of director or counselor, or whether she just tags along and does whatever the Forsyths need her to do. To be fair, the YouTube account only has one video so far, so maybe the mystery of Joy’s actual duties will be solved in the future.
