Demi Lovato Thanks Friends for Not Leaving Her During Her ‘Darkest Moments’ on Instagram
So supportive. On Tuesday, May 14, Demi Lovato gave a sweet shout-out to her best friends for being there during the hard times via social media.
“#ThreeCourseMeal … just me and my best friends living our best lives. Thank you for never leaving me in my darkest moments, for always drying my tears … even when they’re from watching Moana,” the 26-year-old captioned a photo of herself on Instagram with Sara Elizabeth Mitchell, a.k.a. hip hop artist Sirah, and Matthew Scott Montgomery from their recent vacation in Bora Bora.
She continued, “Thank you for being loyal, honest and so grateful for every little thing … like crying because we swam with fish/sharks/stingray and coral reef. I’m so lucky to be best friends with two incredible souls who are so talented and creative because it inspires me daily. And you’re so supportive of me and every little thing I do.”
The “Sorry” crooner was hospitalized after an alleged near-fatal drug overdose in July 2018 and reiterated that her besties constantly checked in on her afterward. “You’ve traveled across the country to visit me and stayed with me at my house for days on end when I’m struggling to make sure I’m OK but most importantly, you never abandoned me like others did when I was going through s–t. You were there to listen, without judgment and only love, and I can never fully express what that means to me.”
The brunette beauty ended the lengthy post on a positive note. “You’re the greatest friends I’ve EVER had, and our future together is so bright,” she wrote. “I love you both more than you can imagine!! Thank you for this past week. @sirahsays @matthew_scott_montgomery. P.S. I’m both y’alls biggest fans.”
Meanwhile, the Texas native has been focusing on herself the past year. On March 15, Demi reflected on her ongoing journey to sobriety. “Today I would’ve had 7 years sober. I don’t regret going out because I needed to make those mistakes, but I must never forget that’s what they were: mistakes,” she wrote on her Instagram Story at the time.
It seems like Demi is in a much better place, and we couldn’t be happier for her. Go, girl!
