It seems like David Eason is pretty much untouchable when it comes to his dog killing incident. After he and Jenelle Evans regained custody of their kids, it has now been revealed that the star will also not face any charges for his actions against the family pet. According to Radar Online, the Columbus County Sheriff’s office is closing the investigation. More so, Jenelle has claimed that the scandal actually brought them closer as a couple — and that David didn’t actually kill the family’s French bulldog, Nugget. Check out the gallery below to get the latest update on Jenelle and David.
According to Radar, David, 31, isn’t facing charges because no evidence was found that he shot and killed Nugget. The report from the investigation indicated there was “no blood evidence or any other physical evidence.”

Missing Dog
The investigation began on May 1 when Jenelle, 27, reported the alleged crime. After Nugget bit the couple’s daughter, Ensley, “[Evans] advised that her husband, David Eason, threw the dog outside.”

Animal Cruelty
“She then advised that after David realized the dog scratched their child, he went outside and shot the dog,” said the report. “Jenelle stated that she did hear a gunshot but did not witness the incident.”

Unreliable Witness
Nearly two weeks later, though, Jenelle’s story changed. On May 14, she told investigators that “she was inside with her children at the time of the alleged event” and didn’t witness anything.

Changing Story
“She advised that she never heard or saw anything to indicate that David shot her dog,” read the report. At that time, she also indicated that she didn’t want the investigation into animal cruelty to continue.

Where’s Nugget?
Though Jenelle admitted that she didn’t know where the dog was or what had happened to Nugget, she said that she didn’t know what David had done. “She [said], ‘I don’t know if she was shot or killed or not.'”

Fake News
Due to the lack of physical evidence as well as Jenelle’s changing story, the case was closed. Additionally, it was determined that the allegations of animal cruelty had been “fabricated.”

Looking for Press
Supporting that, Jenelle is now claiming that she made up the allegations entirely. According to Radar, the Teen Mom 2 star came up with the animal cruelty claims to garner publicity because she “did not know where her dog was.”

Conflicting Reports
However, that claim doesn’t sit well with statements both Jenelle and David have made about Nugget in the past. In his first social media post after reports emerged claiming that he’d killed the dog, he seemed to admit to it.

Protecting His Family
“I don’t give a damn what animal bites my baby on the face. … Whether it be your dog or mine, a dog is a dog, and I don’t put up with that s–t at all,” the star wrote on Instagram on May 1.

David’s Admission
“I’m all about protecting my family,” he continued. “It is my life’s mission. Some people are worth killing or dying for, and my family means that much to me. You can hate me all you want, but this isn’t the first time the dog bit Ensley aggressively. The only person that can judge [whether] or not a animal is a danger to MY CHILD is ME.”

Jenelle’s Statement
On May 1, Jenelle also shared her own Instagram post while mourning Nugget. “Nugget … I’m crying every day. I love you so much and I’m so sorry. I’m speechless,” she wrote. “You were my sidekick and knew the moment I felt bad and would cuddle with me.”

Feeling Heartbroken
Though Jenelle never actually stated that the dog had died, she did write, “Every day I wake up you’re not here, when I come home you’re not here, when I go to bed … you’re not here. You’re gone forever and there’s no coming back.”

Initial Reports
Additionally, Jenelle wasn’t the first one to report the abuse. A 911 caller first made the claim on April 30, one day before Jenelle reached out to the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office. Us Weeklyreports that Jenelle’s ex Nathan Griffith — Kaiser’s dad — also called 911 on April 30 after hearing the disturbing news.

Safety Check
Kaiser’s dad wanted the authorities to make sure that his son was OK. “I guess there was a dispute with my ex-fiancée and her husband and he shot a dog,” he said on the call. “I just want to make sure my son is safe.”

Looking Up
Despite a tumultuous custody battle, Kaiser, his sister, Ensley, and Ensley’s sister, Maryssa, are now back in Jenelle and David’s care. As for Nugget, if he wasn’t shot, he still hasn’t been found. But we’ll let the Teen Mom star’s social media posts speak for themselves.
