They’re still grieving. Joy-Anna Duggar shared an update on how she’s doing after she suffered a miscarriage with her second pregnancy, and it sounds like things are still kind of rough for the Counting On star. “Our hearts are healing,” Joy, 21, began the caption of an Instagram post featuring a Bible verse. “Yes, those days come that I miss my little girl so much. Wishing I could have met her, seen Austin love on her and Gideon play with her 💝.” So heartwrenching.

The reality TV mama continued, “Yet, God has given us so much comfort. People say that I am strong, but I am not. It is Jesus’ strength that has carried me through. He’s given me a peace that passes all understanding and he has given me His JOY 🙏🏼💕.” She also added a few Biblical texts that read, “He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds (Psalms 147:3),” and “The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all (Psalm 34:18-19).” Finally, she ended her post with two hashtags: “#AnnabellEliseForsyth” and “#inthearmsofJesus.”

Family members and followers alike rallied around Joy and her husband, Austin Forsyth, in the comments. Her sister Jill Duggar simply replied with several heart emojis, and her sister-in-law Lauren Swanson wrote, “Those verses were so comforting for me as well. You two are on my mind and prayers constantly. Love you both❤️.” One of her best friends, Carlin Bates, also responded, “Love you, Joy! 😭😭😭.”

Surprisingly, Joy also replied to a heartbroken follower in her comments. “I’m sorry I just wouldn’t be able to find the positive in God after he took my unborn child from me. My heart breaks for you 😞,” they wrote. Joy answered, “God is the one that gave me the child, how can I get bitter if He takes her away? Although I don’t understand, I can trust the He knows best!” If her faith is helping her get through this tough time, we’re not going to begrudge her that.
