This one’s gotta hurt. An insider reportedly told In Touch magazine, on newsstands now, that Collin Gosselin “prefers to hang out with his dad over Kate,” which honestly seems like it’d be a bit of a blow for any parent.

Three months after claiming his daughter Hannah “lives permanently” with him, Jon Gosselin reportedly wants Collin living under his roof now as well. Jon and his ex-wife, Kate Gosselin, share eight children together, including sextuplets. But Kate has custody over most of the kids and has since their 2009 divorce, and it’s really only Hannah who is officially living with her dad right now. Jon wants that to change.

On Oct. 24, the Jon & Kate Plus 8 alum, 41, filed papers in a Pennsylvania court saying it would be in his son Collin’s best interest to live with Jon upon his release from an inpatient program for children with special needs, where Kate sent him back in 2016.

According to a source who spoke with In Touch, Jon — who recently posted photos of Collin, 14, visiting his home for a weekend — “has been getting closer to his son” over the past few years, and Collin prefers his company over that of his mom’s. It’s not totally uncommon for kids to relate to one parent over another, but it’s never fun for the other parent to feel left out.

Another insider told Radar Online on Nov. 7 that Collin seemed “bummed” about going back to the facility he’s been living in for more than two years when he talked to the 14-year-old during his recent visit with his dad. Jon’s close friend and barber Eric Rodriguez told the online outlet, “When Collin was here, he got a little down when I asked him if he was excited to go back [to the facility]…He was bummed about going back. He just said to me, ‘I can’t wait for Thanksgiving break! And to come home.'”

Maybe “home” for Collin will be Jon’s house, instead of Kate’s, when he finally gets out of the facility for good.
