R&B singer Chris Brown was shockingly detained in Paris on Monday, January 21, following a rape accusation, In Touch can confirm.

The police are investigating after a 24-year-old claimed Brown came onto her in his hotel room in the middle of the night on January 15. He was taken into custody on January 21 and released the following day. An investigation into the case is still underway.

The woman told police officers that she met Brown, 29, in a club and later went with him to his hotel, Le Mandarin Oriental, where she alleged the rape occurred.

“He is accused of rape and is being held at the judicial police offices in the 1st arrondissement,” a prosecuting source told In Touch. “He was arrested with two others on Monday, and interviews and other inquiries are ongoing.”

Chris Brown is seen on January 17, 2019 in Paris, France.

“The woman said she was abused by Mr. Brown, a bodyguard, and a friend, and then she was left alone with the star,” according to another source in Paris. “A total of three men were arrested at Mr. Brown’s hotel. They did not resist police, and now have lawyers representing them.”

But just hours after news of his detainment broke, Brown took to social media to deny all allegations made against him, and he suggested that his accuser is not being truthful. “I WANNA MAKE IT PERFECTLY CLEAR…… THIS IS FALSE AND A WHOLE LOT OF CAP! NNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEERRRRRR[sic]!!!!!! FOR MY DAUGHTER AND MY FAMILY THIS IS SO DISRESPECTFUL AND IS AGAINST MY CHARACTER AND MORALS!!!!!” he wrote in a caption on Instagram.

Brown, who just landed a new record deal and will be able to own his own master recordings, has faced no shortage of legal drama over the years, from his restraining orders to probation violations. After his assault of then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009, the singer pleaded guilty to a felony in a plea deal calling for community labor, five years probation and domestic violence counseling.

A few years later, in 2016, model Liziane Gutierrez claimed Brown punched her in the face after she took a photo of him at a Las Vegas party. However, he was never charged with a crime.

In 2018, Brown was arrested following his concert at Coral Sky Amphitheatre on July 5. Police apprehended the singer on an outstanding felony assault warrant. After his release, the R&B star took to social media with a cryptic message that appeared to be about his legal battles. “What’s NEW?” he captioned the concert photo with an eye-roll emoji. “Show tomorrow!”
