Pop that champagne! Several celebrities, athletes and reality TV stars got engaged throughout 2022.
Some of the most recognizable faces include Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, who wed in July just three months after their engagement. In addition, Sofia Richie, Queer Eye‘s Antoni Porowski, singer Becky G and many Bachelor Nation stars are also planning to get hitched.
Bennifer’s quickie engagement was one of the biggest celebrity courtships of 2022. The “On the Floor” singer wrote a sweet message after their Las Vegas wedding and reflected on how they reconnected nearly 20 years after their engagement ended in 2004.
“Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient,” the Marry Me star wrote on her website. “Last night we flew to Vegas, stood in line for a license with four other couples, all making the same journey to the wedding capital of the world.”
Jen continued that their respective kids made for the “best witnesses” during their ceremony. “We read our own vows in the little chapel and gave one another the rings we’ll wear for the rest of our lives,” the sweet note went on. “When love is real, the only thing that matters in marriage is one another and the promise we make to love, care, understand, be patient, loving and good to one another. We had that. And so much more. Best night of our lives.”
They weren’t the only couple to get engaged and married within the same year. Counting On alum Jeremiah Duggar proposed to now-wife, Hannah Wissmann, in January.
“She said YES!!!!!” Jeremiah captioned his Instagram post at the time. “Hannah, getting to know you for the past year has been so incredible! I can’t even find the words to describe it. You are the best thing that has ever happened to me and I cannot wait to marry you. I love you!!”
The two made their courtship public less than three months prior to their engagement. Their whirlwind relationship continued, as they got married in March and announced they are expecting baby No. 1 in August.
