Despite countless assurances of sobriety, it looks like Catelynn Lowell is officially off the wagon. After the Teen Mom OG star posted a picture of a glass of wine to her Snapchat, fans started to worry that she may be mixing alcohol and depression medication.
The combination, according to a online medical source, can cause a number of frightening side effects — including a dangerous spike in blood pressure, increased symptoms of depression, and impaired motor skills.
Speaking with Radar Online, an individual close to the 26-year-old explained that "while Catelynn and Tyler [Baltierra] don't drink nearly as much as anybody else their age," they do have concerns. "I just hope Catelynn isn't drinking on her medication," they added. "Depending on what she's taking, some medications it's safe to have a drink or two, but most warn you not to mix them."
The insider concluded, "I'd like to believe she's smarter than that and if she knows she'll be drinking then she won't take her medication that day." In the past, the reality star has admitted to both suicidal thoughts and self-medicating with marijuana but, "[Catelynn] never had an issue with alcohol," the insider assured.
Catelynn has never shied away from getting help when it was needed. In fact, the MTV alum has been to rehab a total of three times — despite receiving backlash from fans. She has taken to Twitter on a number of occasions to defend her ongoing mental health journey, insisting that, while some consider rehab "running away from her problems," she's all about fixing them, working hard, and getting on the right medication. We hope that's still the case!
