Since Jessa Duggar and the rest of her 18 other siblings pretty much grew up in the spotlight, their spouses were bound to have heard of them or maybe even have caught them on an episode of 19 Kids and Counting. But Jessa's husband, Ben Seewald, adorably admitted that he often watched and admired his now-wife on the TLC show. He explained how he knew he had to meet her in person after seeing her on TV in a new excerpt from the family's book Growing Up Duggar. Check out the video above to read his sweet words!

In the excerpt, the father-of-two couldn't help but gush about what it was like finally meeting her after spending so much time watching her on TV. All of the qualities he had admired from afar were true in person, he revealed. "Once we met, I witnessed firsthand that she was very caring to her mother and helpful with her younger siblings. I had a few conversations with her and quickly realized that she liked to read and learn and that she had a considerable amount of knowledge on subjects I was interested in, such as theology, the family, church, education, etc. She seemed hungry to learn, and I perceived that she was a motivated individual," the 22-year-old said. "As I got to know Jessa even more, I saw her maturity and her grasp of what was really important in life. She shared my love of studying the Bible and wanted to know what I believed. Seeing her in real-life situations, I learned that she wasn't putting on an act. She was the real deal," he continued.

Jessa also took the time to lovingly write about her husband of three years. "When Ben and I were courting, one thing I really appreciated was his humility and gentle spirit. If he did something to hurt my feelings or took something the wrong way, he was quick to apologize. He'd say, 'I'm sorry,' and it was a sincere apology. That made me feel really loved," she wrote. "And Ben has never belittled my emotions, and he doesn't blow them off. I saw that when we were courting, and now that we're married, I continue to see that he's a sweetheart through and through. Who he was then is who he is now."
