Interesting… it looks like Ben Affleck‘s ex-girlfriend, Lindsay Shookus, is trying to get back in Ben’s good graces by sharing his best friend’s skit. On Sunday, Dec. 16, the SNL producer took to Instagram to post several clips with Matt Damon and captioned it, “One of my true all-time favorites. EVEN WHEN IT’S THE WORST, IT’S THE BEST. @nbcsnl  #merrychristmas #lovesnl.”

Ok surrreeee, you may be thinking, “Well, she works for the show, so it’s not that weird.” Fair enough. BUT when she has literally never posted a clip before, you can’t tell me that’s not at least a little strange.

The social media post came just days after the two were spotted out to dinner together — though it wasn’t just them. Matt portrayed Brett Kavanaugh on SNL earlier this year, so the two have run into each other quite a bit. But while it looked like they were getting along well, a source told In Touch that Matt thought Lindsay was “controlling and manipulative” in her relationship with Ben. #Awk.

Ultimately, however, the couple couldn’t make it work reportedly because of Ben’s substance abuse issues. “Lindsay had been supporting Ben’s sobriety and going to meetings with him. She had him in meditation and they were doing it together,” a source told People. “His recovery was something that was very important to both of them.”

“It was very hard for her to break up with Ben, but she knew he wasn’t getting better and that it was time for her to step aside,” the source continued. “She was trying to stay as close to him a possible so that he would stay on the right path, but ultimately it just wasn’t possible. She knew she had to let him hit bottom.”

But now we wonder what the father-of-three thinks about his bestie schmoozing with his ex. Especially since the actors have known each other for 35 years and are “bonded for life,” according to Matt. That said, we did spy a Ben pic on Lindsay’s Insta still, so perhaps there’s no bad blood between any of them.
