Doting Dad! Ben Affleck Spends Quality Time With Kids Without Jennifer Garner

He’s really stepping up! On Nov. 23, Ben Affleck went holiday shopping with his kids Violet, 12, Seraphina, 9, and Samuel, 6, but his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, was no where to be found. Instead, his mother, Christine, joined him and the kids.

The Batman v Superman actor was wearing a flannel shirt with jeans and black leather boots while he perused a store for gifts.

Ben continued to spend some family time with his daughters and son on Nov. 25 when he took them to church in Brentwood, CA. The actor sported jeans and a plaid shirt and looked to be in good spirits during the outing.

It seems like the former couple is really trying hard to make the divorce as seamless as possible for their kids. A source told People, “They really like to do things as a family, be it outings, church, cooking, or watching movies. They have both had some ups and downs this year, and they seem to be in a good place.”

Jennifer and Ben reportedly spent Thanksgiving together in Montana. “This was long planned. They always celebrate big holidays together as a family. The family all spent Thanksgiving together and they all cooked,” a source confessed to People.

Ben’s brother, Casey Affleck, told Entertainment Tonight in September 2018 that Ben has remained dedicated to getting sober for his ex-wife and their kids. He said, “Alcoholism has a huge impact on not just the person, but also their family. I think for his kids’ sake and for their mom, and for himself, he’s trying to do the work and get it together.”

The Manchester by the Sea actor added, “It can’t be easier to have everybody looking at you and taking your picture as you’re walking out of an intervention. I saw my father struggle with it for many years and nobody was following him around with cameras and stuff.”
