Ben Affleck ‘Devastated’ Over Pics Of Jennifer Garner With New Boyfriend, Source Claims
She wasn’t going to stay single forever! But apparently, Ben Affleck may have hoped that would be the case when it comes to his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner. Heat magazine reported that the actor is struggling to deal with Jen moving on with her new boyfriend, John Miller, and according to an insider who spoke with the publication, “When Ben saw the pics of Jen and John online, he was devastated.”
A source reportedly told Heat, “When Ben and Jen met up with the kids, they kept talking about Mummy’s new friend and how much fun he was.” They’re referring to Jen’s new man, John, who she’s been dating for around six months — although the couple only recently went public. The insider added, “they were saying how he knows how to cook and doesn’t like alcohol, which really got to Ben.”
Ben hasn’t been quite as quiet about his dating pursuits since he and the 13 Going on 30 actress broke up — indeed, the source told Heat that he, “hasn’t been short of women since splitting with Jen.” By comparison, Jen, “made a point of never introducing him to her children until her divorce was official,” so these feelings of sadness or devastation may just be something that Ben hasn’t had to confront until now.
And what about the kids? The same source told Heat that Ben is worried about John having a relationship with his children — Violet, 12, Seraphina, 9, and Samuel, 6. “Ben realized that there might be a stepfather in the children’s future and he felt like a total failure,” and added, “He somehow thought Jen might remain single forever, and that no man would ever spend any time with his kids.” Not super realistic, but OK.
The truth is, Ben and Jen are divorced, and as much as the shippers may hope for another outcome, they’ve both got to move on sooner or later. It just sounds like Ben might have to deal with that reality sooner than he realized.
