They’re trading up! Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard are making some major real estate moves, including buying a plot of land and building their new home on it. Though the project has clearly been in the works for a while, the Duggar couple was keeping things under wraps. On Thursday, April 18, though, they decided to share their good news with the world. “Exciting news!!!” the mom-of-two wrote on Instagram, directing fans and followers to check out the family’s blog. In a new post, they spilled the beans on their purchase — and even shared a whole bunch of photos of the work-in-process.
“The last few weeks for us have been busy!” Jill, 27, said in the post. “Not only just keeping up with life and Derick’s hectic school schedule, but we have also been in the process of planning for the future. … We are excited to share with you that we are moving!!” she continued. “We are relocating to Lowell, [Arkansas], which is closer to family and more centrally located in Northwest Arkansas. We started the process to build several months ago and have taken pictures along the way and are excited to share them with y’all now!”
In the gallery, you can see the couple go from signing the finished papers to standing in front of their sold lot to visiting the property as the foundations and walls slowly come together. Before the walls went up, they wrote some personal messages and mottos on the wooden beams. “Dio es mi escudo,” read one, which translates to, “God is my shield.” On another, they added each of the family member’s names — Derick, Jill, Israel, and Samuel — as well as the date, February 25, 2019. Next to it, they added a bible quote: “As for me & my house, we will serve the Lord.” – Joshua 24:15.
Throughout the rest of the house, they added even more bible quotes as well as some writing in what appears to be Spanish and Nepali. In one spot, the parents traced their sons’ hands on the beams. When the rest of the walls went up and the floor went in, they added the doodle that Derick showed off in his Instagram post, showing the couples’ hands, an infinity sign, and hearts, marking the date as March 17, 2019. Now that it’s April 2019, it looks like the house is just about ready for move-in day, and the last photo in the album is the foursome smiling for a selfie in front of their new home. We can’t wait to see what their new life in Lowell is like.
