Did he do this on purpose? Amy Duggar King spoke about her pregnancy during an interview with People on August 13, and revealed how her famous cousins reacted to the news. When she talked about how long she and her husband, Dillon King, waited to have children, he made kind of a shady comment about how much less time her cousins take to get married and pregnant by comparison.

Amy, 32, said her reality TV star family members are “all so excited” about her pregnancy. “They were like, ‘When is this going to happen? You guys have been married for almost four years.'” Dillon, 30, then interjected, “I think it was the appropriate amount of time.” That wouldn’t normally be a snarky comment, except the Duggar kids are infamous for rushing through courtship and to the altar, then to becoming parents not long after they get married. Was he low-key shading his wife’s famous family members?

Amy is one of several Duggar family members who are pregnant at the moment. She and Dillon took to Instagram to share the exciting news with their fans on Easter Sunday, April 21. “BABY KING IS ON THE WAY!!! Happy Easter from our growing family to yours!!” she wrote at the time.

The couple met in July 2014 and started dating shortly after that. By July 2015, Amy and Dillon were engaged, and they got married two months later in a beautiful ceremony at Horton Farms near Bentonville, Arkansas. But they haven’t rushed into having kids since then, and the little boy they’re expecting — Daxton Ryan — will be the duo’s first child.

Just to compare, Amy’s cousin Joy-Anna Duggar got married to her husband, Austin Forsyth, on May 26, 2017, and the couple announced their first pregnancy on August 30 of that same year. (Things moved so quickly for the couple, some fans speculated they had a shotgun wedding.) Then there’s Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard, who got married on June 21, 2014, then announced they were expecting in August 2014.

We can see why four years would seem pretty long to a family that tends to welcome babies pretty quickly once they’re married! Do you think Dillon meant to be a little snarky with his comment?
