She won't be silenced! Amy Duggar — who is one of the most outspoken Duggar cousins — has finally opened up about what landed her in therapy. "[My parents'] divorce was extremely hard on me," she told Radar Online. "It was very, very difficult."

The 31-year-old found out about their separation through a text message from her father, Terry Jordan, on Christmas of 2015. Radar obtained exclusive court documents about the divorce proceedings where Terry claimed he suffered "intolerable" treatment from Amy's mother, Deanna Dugger.

Amy admitted to the publication that she knew things were bad between her parents — she said their relationship was "just awful." At the time of the divorce, she told Entertainment Tonight, "It has been quite a year to be a Duggar. The family has gone through a lot of heartache this year, but we will get through it. Right now, I just have to take lessons from all I've gone through this year and focus on my marriage."

But, the divorce wasn't the only bombshell to come out about Amy's parents during the trying time. While appearing on Marriage Boot Camp last year, Amy opened up about how her father had been abusive toward her as a child.

"We've gone to counseling and I've forgiven him for everything he's done," Amy told Radar. However, she also acknowledged that she should have handled the whole thing differently. Instead of exposing the details, Amy admitted that she should have dealt with it less publicly. "I should have done that behind closed doors," she explained.

Since the falling out with her dad, the pair have started to make amends. "I've got to realize that I've done everything that I can possibly do," Amy said. "And I've apologized."

Amy's extended Duggar family doesn't exactly believe in divorce. They get married at a young age, have as many kids as God will give them, and always have sex with their husbands — literally, whenever they want. Unfortunately, Amy learned firsthand what actually happens when a marriage doesn't work out.
