Police visited Aaron Carter’s home for a wellness check on Wednesday, August 8, and the singer is doing OK, despite reports that he was thinking about killing himself. “He is not suicidal,” a source told Us Weekly. “He was basically swatted — this was a false alarm. He has been working a lot and busy.”

His rep told In Touch: “Right now, Aaron is busy preparing for his show tonight in Indianapolis with Lance Bass and Ryan Cabrera.”

The authorities showed up four days after the 31-year-old revealed him and his girlfriend Lina Valentina had called it quits. Fortunately, it seems like Aaron is doing just fine post-split. “He initiated it, and she was upset about it,” the insider added. “He bought a house, and they were planning for the future, but he realized it wasn’t a healthy relationship and ended it.”

On Sunday, August 4, the “I Want Candy” crooner confirmed he was single again after the pair dated for less than a year. “Lina and I have decided to go our separate ways,” he told Us Weekly in a statement. “I was really hoping this would be the one that lasted forever. We had even talked about having kids, but we couldn’t seem to get past our differences, and the relationship eventually turned unhealthy.”

The handsome hunk confessed he is trying to distract himself from the heartbreak. “I’ve been through so much the past few years and am trying to learn from my mistakes,” he said. “I don’t have any regrets being with Lina, and I definitely learned a lot about myself. I think this decision was the mature thing to do. I’m going to keep focusing on my music, my tour and my fans. Hopefully, my soulmate is out there somewhere, and I’ll meet her soon.”

Aaron has struggled with issues for quite some time. In October 2017, he checked into rehab following his arrest for driving under the influence and possession of marijuana. One month prior, he was involved in a car accident. Afterward, police visited his Florida home four times in 34 hours for gun and safety concerns.

The pop idol got candid about his struggles later that same year. “I thought I would die by 30,” he told Us Weekly at the time. “Even when I was 13, 14, I thought, ‘Oh, my God. I’m going to die,’” he said. “Life, it was pretty tough. I dealt with a lot of trauma, a lot of loss, a lot of loneliness. I just felt like I needed to get away.”

After Aaron turned 30 years old, he got his act together and started pouring his heart and soul into his music. “It’s time to act like a frickin’ adult,” he said. “I have new aspirations. All of those require my attention for music, and I’m tell you, I love the studio. It’s the safest place for me and very therapeutic.”

He added, “I produce music when I feel depressed. It’s just my way out, my way of resting my mind. That’s how all these songs came about. They’re about ex-girlfriends that didn’t work out. I wrote songs about them while I was with them, trying to get them to understand what they were doing to me.”
