’90 Day Fiancé’ Star Molly Hopkins’ Hunky Brother, Jess, Has a Love Story Fit for ‘The Other Way’

The country boy finally met his match! When Molly Hopkins was introduced to fans on season 5 of TLC’s hit reality TV series, 90 Day Fiancé, she also introduced viewers to her hunky brother, Jess Hopkins. But don’t get your hopes up, ladies, because Jess will be off the market soon! Jess made a cameo during the episode of 90 Day Fiancé: What Now? that aired on Sunday, May 26, to reveal that he’s getting married soon and will be closing the distance on his long distance, international relationship with a woman named Marit.

“I found love. And she’s amazing,” Jess revealed. “She found me through my music. I spent my whole life recording and all of a sudden, out of nowhere, this Norweigan girl hits me up about my music. We got to talking every day and then I got to thinking, ‘Man, I can’t stop thinking about her.’ And then she came over here and all of a sudden we fell in love and I’m going to move to Norway.”

But Molly, 43, was understandably concerned about her brother taking such a big leap of faith for his foreign partner. As fans recall, Molly met and fell in love with her ex-husband, Luis Mendez, during a girls’ trip to the Dominican Republic. Shortly after, Luis proposed and Molly applied for the K-1 visa so that he could legally enter the United States as her fiancé. Under the K-1 visa, they would have 90 days to decide if they wanted to get married or not, and if they didn’t, Luis would have to return to the Dominican Republic. But they secretly got married shortly after he arrived in the states, and their marriage didn’t end well. Their divorce was finalized before they could celebrate their 1-year wedding anniversary.

Now that Jess is embarking on his own international love story, Molly was worried that he might be making the same mistakes she did in her marriage to Luis.

“I know it’s not easy, I never thought in a million years that I wasn’t gonna meet somebody and be in love and be married. I mean, I fell in love with somebody that had nothing to give me,” Molly said, breaking down in tears.“My emotions have been all over the board. I have concerns for Jess because sometimes it can be very toxic.”

Jess understood where Molly was coming from. “I value my sister’s advice because we’ve both been through the ringer,” Jess said. “But even though it didn’t happen with my sister, I’m not afraid because I feel like I’ve met the love of my life.”

In order to ease Molly’s mind, Jess called Marit on video chat so that they could have a heart-to-heart. Marit seemed to be very open to Molly’s advice and she assured Molly that she was in her relationship with Jess for the right reasons — and ultimately, Molly gave them her blessing.

“My overseas love and finding love in another place wasn’t good, but that doesn’t mean it can’t work and it can’t be possible,” Molly said. “I have concerns for Jess, it’s not always going to be easy. But on the other hand, as long as Jess loves his wife and has respect for her and she does the same, I don’t think they’re going to have any problems. Good luck.”
