Song selection is a big deal! Evelyn Cormier performed a sultry rendition of the hit single “Wonderwall” during Hollywood week of American Idol and the judges sang her praises. The former 90 Day Fiancé star showed off her vocal prowess while covering Oasis’ jam and it ended up being the perfect choice because Katy Perry even took to Twitter to show her some love.

Before putting on a stellar performance, the previous TLC alum shared her excitement about singing the classic. “I’m very familiar with the song ‘Wonderwall.’ Just because I’m in a family band, and every time we play out, we do ‘Wonderwall’ as, like, our fun song,” Evelyn said.

Katy, 34, was blown away by Evelyn’s abilities and even compared her to an icon while sharing her thoughts about the performance on Twitter. “Such a good spin on Wonderwall @Cher … I mean, @EvelynCormier Your voice is otherworldly #AmericanIdol,” the judge wrote.

Luke Bryan also tweeted, “Song choice is everything. What did y’all think of @evelyncormier’s performance of Wonderwall? #HollywoodWeek #AmericanIdol.”

Much to her delight, Evelyn made it to the Top 40 and revealed how honored she was to have the opportunity. The reality star also confessed how tough the whole experience has been on her.

“Guys! I made TOP 40! I am so thankful — Hollywood week was one of the most trying weeks of my life. No sleep, constant nauseous, loads of pressure, migraines, soo much stress, separated from family — I’m not going to lie, by midweek, I didn’t think I could last another minute,” Evelyn wrote. “But I did and all the glory to God for getting me through it! I would do it all again if I had to!”

Evelyn has definitely made a splash on season 17 of the hit ABC show. “Literally one of my favorite voices I’ve ever heard in life,” Katy said during her previous performance. Luke, 42, added, “I think when you have a really amazing band behind you, it’s gonna be something crazy.”

Lionel Richie, 69, was also intrigued by her unique style. “You have a sound, you have a sound that’s yours. I love the air. I don’t know what you’re doing, but whatever it is — it’s an identity,” he gushed. Now that she’s been advanced, Evelyn will soon be showing off her skills in Hawaii!
