Ricky is a single dad who is in love with his online girlfriend Melissa, and TLC cameras followed him as he traveled to Colombia to meet the blonde beauty for the first time in person. But Ricky’s friends and many viewers believe that Melissa is really a catfish, and there are rumors swirling online that claim Ricky did get catfished by another woman because he was allegedly spotted filming with a mystery brunette — and now, Ricky took to Instagram to set the record straight.

Ricky recently posted a selfie on his Instagram page, and fans started to speculate about the rumors about his alleged catfish in the comments. “Probably could be that Melissa is a girl but not the one in the pictures. There is a picture of Ricky and a girl having like ice cream on the streets of Colombia…the girl he is with has dark hair and she looks nothing like in the pictures,” one fan commented.

“Imma [sic] use the words that are being used a lot now / this is ‘Fake News,'” Ricky responded in the comments.

It seems like Ricky was debunking the fan theory that Ricky was catfished when he went to meet Melissa in Colombia. It could be possible that the photo that is floating around was not taken in Colombia, because according to 90 Day Fiancé YouTuber Keith Brooks, the woman in the photo is actually from Miami and not Colombia.

But if Melissa really isn’t a catfish, then she’ll have a lot of explaining to do. Last week’s episode of the show left off on a cliffhanger as Ricky waited for hours for Melissa to meet him for their first date at a restaurant in Colombia. She texted Ricky and told him that she would be late to their date and that she would arrive by 7:30 p.m., but when the episode ended, it was already 8:49 p.m. and Melissa still did not show up. Fans will just have to tune into the next episode to find out what happens next!
