School’s almost in session! 90 Day Fiancé star Nicole Nafziger got a lot of heat during season 4 of the TLC spinoff 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? from both her family and fans. It seemed like no one agreed with Nicole’s plans of moving to Morocco to be with her fiancé, Azan Tefou (a.k.a. Hassan M’Raouni), and bring her 5-year-old daughter, May, with her. But the part that really seemed to upset everyone was that Nicole, 25, wanted to enroll May in a Moroccan school. Now, it seems like Nicole is getting May ready for her first day of school, and she seemingly shared a hint that May might be starting school in the United States after all. Nicole and Azan, 26, are a rare couple on the hit TLC franchise. The show is based around couples made up of one foreigner and one American citizen who are planning to get married using the K-1 visa to legally bring their spouse to the United States — but this is not the case for Azan and Nicole.

In season 3, it was revealed that Azan’s K-1 visa was rejected or denied, and he was not able to travel to the United States legally. So the only other option for Nicole and Azan was to apply for the spousal visa, which would allow Azan to legally travel to the United States as the spouse of an American citizen.

But the spousal visa process takes about three years. So in order for them to be together as a family, Nicole planned to move to Morocco, marry Azan, then file paperwork so she could remain in Morocco as the spouse of a Moroccan citizen. After that, Nicole would live with Azan and May in Morocco and they would apply for Azan’s spousal visa and wait in Morocco until the visa is approved so that they could all travel back to the United States together, which is where they hope to permanently live.

Even though the plan seemed like a reasonable one, things didn’t exactly go the way Nicole had hoped. While she was in Morocco, she and Azan postponed their wedding twice. They failed to get married within the 90-day time visa for Nicole to legally be in the country, and she had to go back to America with May.

Ever since she returned home from Morocco, Nicole tried to plan a vacation to Grenada so that she could reunite with Azan. But as fans watched on season 3, Azan canceled their vacation to Grenada at the very last minute. Nicole used the money that she was refunded from her canceled trip to Grenada for plane tickets to Morocco, but she was also forced to cancel her trip at the last minute.

In one particular scene from season 4, Nicole explained to her mom and stepdad that she still planned to move to Morocco and was hoping to arrive in the country before the school year began, so that she could enroll her daughter in kindergarten. But Nicole’s parents did not like the idea of their granddaughter attending school in a foreign country.

“There is an urgency for them to get married in Morocco so that they can give May a little more stability and the consistency a child May’s age needs instead of this back and forth, back and forth. May has to be enrolled in kindergarten in a few months. They have to get this all ironed out right away,” Nicole’s mom, Robbalee, said in her confessional.

Robbalee then confronted Nicole about her plans for May’s schooling. “May is going to be to a point real soon where it’s going to be time for her to start school. What are your plans?” Robbalee asked Nicole.

“That’s something I’m still trying to figure out how to get done. We are still talking about having her in a school. There are American, not American, um, foreigner schools?” Nicole told her mom.

Robbalee pointed out that sending May to a private school will cost money, so she pressed her daughter for more information on how she plans to fund May’s education while in Morocco. Nicole told her mom they had a plan but she didn’t sound too convincing. “You have to go to kindergarten. She is way too smart to let her slip through the cracks,” Robbalee told Nicole.

Shortly after the episode aired, Nicole defended her decision to enroll May in a Moroccan school. “Y’all call me young and immature but y’all are the ones who are so damn [absentminded] about living in other parts of the world with your children. Y’all can’t even see that America isn’t the #1 best country for schools,” Nicole wrote in an Instagram Story post. “I’m not saying Morocco is #1 either but that doesn’t mean it’s a bad school. She’s 5!!! She learns to play well with others, English, and ART! Do you need to be in America to learn that?? NO!”

But now, it seems like Nicole’s plans may have changed again. On Friday, August 2, she took to her Instagram Story to share two cute photos of May modeling her new school uniforms.

But the style of the uniform itself may be a hint as to where May will be attending school. Nicole is still living in Florida and she recently confirmed that she and May moved into their own apartment. According to the websites for three elementary schools in her county, school officials request that students stick to the dress code and uniforms should be in the color palette of khaki and navy blue and shirts should be collared.

Judging from May’s cute outfits, it seems like her new uniforms fit the dress code of her local school district.
