Where’s Derick Dillard? That’s what fans were wondering when they saw photos of his son Israel’s birthday party and the father-of-two was nowhere to be found. Over the weekend, the Duggars helped Israel celebrate his fourth birthday. Anna Duggar set things up and snapped pictures as grandma Michelle Duggar and mom Jill Duggar held up a homemade banner, Jana Duggar and the crew decorated the park with balloons and the little boy opened presents from other family members like Jim Bob Duggar. But while there were tons of Duggars celebrating, Israel’s dad wasn’t with them.

Fans couldn’t help wonder exactly what was going on. After all, Izzy’s birthday was on Saturday, April 6, the same day of the party — so it seemed unlikely that Derick was just stuck in class. After Anna shared pictures of the fun day on her Instagram account, one commenter asked exactly what went down. “Where’s Derick??” they wrote. “Was it just an all kid party?”

Anna did her best to put the rumors to rest. “Mommas and kids party!” she clarified. But despite that, it seems like quite a few family members are missing. In fact, the only mommas we see are Michelle, Anna, and Jill — though we’ll give an honorary mention to Jana considering the fact that she’s helped raise plenty of kids in her day. Though Jessa Duggar‘s son Spurgeon can be seen helping his cousin celebrate, it doesn’t seem like she actually made it to the party. Neither did Izzy’s aunt Kendra Caldwell, who recently announced she’s now expecting Baby No. 2 with husband Joseph Duggar.

Of course, little Izzy didn’t seem to mind too much. He was clearly enjoying himself just fine and looked excited to give his new toys a try. And mama Jill backed all that up. “He has had a blast!” she told Anna about her older son. “Thanks so much!!” Anna shared some love right back, sending her sister-in-law a heart emoji in the comments. We’re not sure why all the dads in the family would want to skip such a fun occasion, but it’s clear they’re the ones missing out.
