They don’t seem bothered! Talk show host Wendy Williams and her son, Kevin Hunter Jr., smiled and held hands as they were spotted by photographers on their way to a Washington DC gala on May 23. Wendy, 54, and her son, Kevin Jr., 18, were spotted out and about together and were clutching each other’s hands as they made their way to the event.

The mother/son duo was seen just two days after the son of the Wendy Williams Show host was arrested on assault charges. Kevin Jr. was reportedly taken away in handcuffs and taken into custody by the West Orange Police Department after a heated dispute with his dad, which occurred on May 21 at 9:50 p.m.

The argument was allegedly over Kevin Sr.’s demand for spousal support. Sounds like Kevin Jr. is on his mom’s side in his parents’ divorce, and these pics only make that seem more likely.

“[Kevin Jr.] was given a summons,” the Essex County Prosecutor told Radar Online about the incident, which took place near the family’s New Jersey home. “This is a matter that will be handled in family court.”

That Escalated Quickly

Things supposedly escalated quickly, and Kevin Sr., 46, reportedly put his son into a headlock to calm him down and “Kevin Jr. punched his father in the face,” an insider told Radar. The investigation is pending.
