Awkward! Vanessa Lachey Claps Back At Fan Who Compares Daughter To Nick’s Ex-Wife Jessica Simpson
This is one love triangle Vanessa Lachey does not want to be a part of. The Top Chef Junior host clapped back in the nicest way possible at a fan when they compared her daughter, Brooklyn, to her husband Nick Lachey’s ex-wife, Jessica Simpson.
On Dec. 31, a fan named Kimberly wrote in a since-deleted tweet, “OK…elephant in the room…but why does Nick and Vanessa Lachey’s daughter look like Jessica Simpson?” Vanessa, 38, replied, “2019, new year, new outlook. Let’s be positive, especially with our children. Thanks, Kimberly. Happy New Year.”

Other followers were confused why Kimberly would even write that in the first place. One said, “Except if you look at photos of Vanessa as a child, her lovely daughter looks exactly like her, Kimberly. Happy New Year to the Lacheys,” while another echoed, “She doesn’t look anything like her.”
Some Twitter users were so impressed with the way that the mother-of-three responded to Kimberly. One person wrote, “You are a class act, Mrs. Lachey,” while another commented, “I’m not sure I would’ve been so nice!! Your children are beautiful.”
Vanessa and Nick, 45, got married in 2011 and share three children — Camden, 6, Brooklyn, 4, and Phoenix, 2. The “With You” singer married Eric Johnson in 2014 and they have two kids, with a third child on the way.
The 98 Degrees member was married to Jessica, 38, from 2002 to 2006, but unfortunately the two couldn’t make it work. In 2013, Nick appeared on Watch What Happens Live and admitted that he hadn’t spoken to the blonde beauty in “probably six years.” He added, “It was like another lifetime.”
Nick and Vanessa are still dedicated to making their marriage work after all of these years. “I see it as a working marriage and [I] don’t mean like a job working, but we have to constantly work at it,” she admitted to Us Weekly. “I was just telling my girlfriend last night: We don’t settle or run; we go head-on with the problem. We communicate, we talk things through, and we listen to the other person. We both know exactly what we want out of life and that’s each other, so we’re gonna make it work.”
We’re happy that Vanessa didn’t let the drama get to her!
