New year, same feud! We thought we left royal beef in 2018, but sadly, that’s not the case. In an interview with UK’s The Sun, Thomas Markle commented on the alleged tension between Meghan and her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, but his response was, well, fishy.

“If there is any animosity between Meghan and Kate, they should put their differences aside,” he told the publication. Hmm, sound familiar?

The 74-year-old has been trying to contact Meghan for months with little success. Late last year, he opened about those staged paparazzi photos that damaged the relationship with his “baby.” He told the Daily Mail in August, “Harry told me that I should never go to the press,” he revealed of his son-in-law, whom he’s never met. “That it would end in tears. He said, ‘They will eat you alive.’ He was right.”

Now, he’s defending his daughter, likely in hopes to reconnect. “I don’t think she deserves it and I don’t think she is doing one-third of the things she is being accused of doing,” Thomas continued to tell The Sun. “This just isn’t like her.”

Meghan and Kate’s jealousy-fueled battle had gotten so out of control that Prince Harry and Prince William were forced to intervene. A palace insider revealed to In Touch exclusively, “The boys are discussing whether to stage an intervention in order to get Meghan and Kate to make up.”

They added that Queen Elizabeth, 92, has been very much aware of the situation and frankly, she’s over it. Can you blame her? “She said something had to be done. She wants to resolve the issue once and for all. The last thing the queen wants is a full-blown crisis at the palace,” the insider explained.

Tom continued to plead for reconciliation so he could help his daughter through the dramz. “I need to know what the hell is happening and why it is happening,” he concluded. “I need to know why she is being bashed every day.”
