Thora Birch (Born in 1982)
Then: As a child star, Thora rose to fame with roles in Hocus Pocus, Patriot Games, All I Want For Christmas and Now and Then. At 16, she began transitioning to more adult roles with American Beauty, which went on to win the Academy Award For Best Picture in 2000.
Now: After a few years of smaller roles, Thora recently admitted to putting her showbiz career on hold, explaining, “I decided to take a break and live my life, branch out a little, educate myself.” She’s also expanded her experience behind the camera. In 2013, she produced (and starred in) a limited-release film called Petunia and recently wrote a screenplay that she’s hoping to take to the big screen.
