Our hearts go out to Snoop Dogg and his family. According to new reports, the rapper welcomed his newest grandson, a little boy named Kai Love, on September 15 — but just 10 days later, they lost him. Kai was the rapper’s fifth grandchild, his third from eldest son Corde Broadus.

Corde, a 25-year-old father of three, seemingly confirmed the news on Instagram. “Kai Love 9/15/19 – 9/25/19,” he wrote. “My son Kai brought so much love and positivity into this world. His energy will live on and these 10 days of love will always be special to us. Let’s all cherish life and those we love while we are here. Thank you. 🙏🏾💜♻️” In the comments, as family, friends and fans shared their condolences, he offered even more information. “Kai died in my arms as well,” he shared, seemingly cherishing the opportunity to hold his son one last time. “Life is beautiful when you view it for what it is.”

On Instagram, he shared a video of his daughter, Eleven, giving the newborn a sweet kiss. He also included a photo of the whiteboard outside of his son’s hospital room. The image shared both the baby’s name and their plan for the day that Kai eventually passed. “Love + light,” the family had written with a smiley face.

Snoop’s wife and the baby’s grandmother, Shante Broadus, shared her own heartbreaking post on Thursday, September 26. “To my fifth gbaby, 👶🏽” she captioned a video of herself singing an emotional song. “Kai Love 9-15-19/9-25-19 💙💙💙💙💙💙 #TheLoveWeHadStaysOnMyMind 💙 #MamaTae 💚💛❤️💙💜” Corde’s younger brother, Cordell Broadus, shared some love in the comments. “Love you, Momma,” he wrote. “Love you, too, Baby Boy,💙” she wrote back.

Shante also shared a dance tribute to her grandson. “Thank you for all your well wishes,” she told everyone. “I see and feel them all … The only person that could get me [through] this mood is #AnitaBaker. #LeadMeToLove #BLE #Pafoooorm #BabyKaiLove #MamaTae 👶🏽💙💙”

Though Snoop himself hasn’t publicly weighed in, he has shared some seemingly somber Instagram posts. On September 15, the rapper and his wife left a concert in the Bay Area in California to head directly to their plane and fly back to Los Angeles. The next day, he shared a prayer with his fans and a few days later he revealed he would be out of touch while spending the day with his mother, who is also struggling with her health, as well as his brothers, wife, son and daughter. Later that day, September 18, he shared a prayer hands emoji and a rose.
