This is heartbreaking. Shahs of Sunset star Mercedes Javid revealed on Instagram that she can’t ever get pregnant again, and she’s clearly having a hard time with it. She shared a photo of herself, tastefully unclothed and showing off her baby bump while looking at the camera with a gorgeous black and white filter. She’s pregnant with her first child in the maternity photo, and captioned it, “Since I can never carry a baby again, I’m extremely grateful to those who made sure I had this shoot and keep this memory forever.”

The 46-year-old TV personality continued, “My body is still healing from pregnancy, my heart is fragile and vulnerable. I wish I had the compassion I have now, as a new mom, all of my life. But now I am learning to have a deeper appreciation about why growth in life is such an important gift. I want to be better, and stronger. Lately, most days are a challenge. #tbc 🙏 .”

The Bravolebrity and her husband, Tommy Feight, welcomed a baby on April 17. Their son, Shams Francis Feight, was born weighing 6 pounds and 9 ounces in Los Angeles via a C-section. He was reportedly given the name Shams in honor of MJ’s dad who passed away, and Francis in honor of Tommy’s mother who also died. Her representative said to E! News at the time, “The healthy baby boy is happy and doing great, and the family can’t wait to bring him home.”

The outlet previously noted that Mercedes elected to undergo in vitro fertilization (IVF) to expand her family with Tommy, and had to have multiple surgeries to remove uterine polyps in preparation for an embryo transfer. In addition, her husband shared on Instagram on May 22, that his wife suffered complications from the birth of their son. He posted a photo of Mercedes in a hospital bed and wrote in part, “This is how my wife spent her first 2 days as a mom — it was without a doubt the most terrifying experience I have ever been through, I have never felt so alone and helpless and even now I can’t think of this experience without breaking down … I will let NO ONE disrespect minimize and devalue all that she went through to bring our son into this world.”

MJ later told Us Weekly that she was placed in the ICU after giving birth to Shams because of blood loss. “During my delivery, I lost two-thirds of my body’s blood supply, requiring 19 units of blood during the surgery, then [was] intubated and placed in ICU from having significant fluid in my lungs after my C-section,” she revealed. We can see how her health issues before the birth and after might make future pregnancies tough, if not impossible.

Fans in Mercedes’ comments were very sympathetic. “Just wicked happy you were able to achieve your dream of becoming a mommy,” one wrote. “It’s been a Hell of a journey to watch unfold. Baby Shams is truly blessed and you and Tommy will give him the most amazing life.” We agree — he’s a lucky little guy, indeed.
