He's opening up! It's been three months since Teen Mom OG fans have seen or heard of Ryan Edwards ever since he and his wife Mackenzie Edwards went MIA on social media following the reunion special with Dr. Drew. But now, Mackenzie and Ryan have returned and Ryan took to Instagram on Friday, July 20 to share a very strong message to his followers about addiction and being sober — and he even slammed MTV in the process.

"I will never stop speaking out against this horrible disease! It consumes your life and turns you into someone even you don’t know," he wrote on Instagram. "I’m asking you to never give up. Each day is a struggle. I’ve made mistakes and I have really messed up in the past but there is so much hope ahead and it doesn’t mean I can’t change the future. If you or someone you know needs help, please don’t hesitate to go SAMHSA.gov. Help is out there."

I will never stop speaking out against this horrible disease! It consumes your life and turns you into someone even you don’t know. I’m asking you to never give up. Each day is a struggle. They don’t want to show me or Mack in a happy light or that I am active in my recovery. I AM. They want me to look angry, passive aggressive and uncaring regarding things that mean the most to me. I’m done taking their shit and letting the world believe this by standing up for myself. You’re believing a lie. And soon… very very soon, you WILL see the TRUTH behind the LIAR.

It's the first time Ryan has really opened up about his addiction and his sobriety. Even though Ryan admitted that he had made mistakes in the past, he also said that MTV and the Teen Mom OG producers were part of the reason why Ryan has a bad reputation on camera.

"Don’t take everything you see on MTV as factual truth. They don’t want to show me or Mack in a happy light or that I am active in my recovery. I AM," he continued. "They want me to look angry, passive-aggressive and uncaring regarding things that mean the most to me. I’m done taking their s–t and letting the world believe this by standing up for myself. You’re believing a lie. And soon… very very soon, you WILL [sic] see the TRUTH [sic] behind the LIAR [sic]."
