Pregnant! Ray J Confirms He and Princess Love Are Expecting After Fertility Struggle
And baby makes three! Ray J confirmed that he and his wife, Princess Love are expecting their first child together. The announcement came on today’s episode of The Real, which he co-hosted. “Love is on my mind. Love is on my heart,” he gushed to the audience. “Princess and I are expecting. I’mma be a dad. I’m nervous, excited. It finally happened! My first one.”
This is the first child for both mom- and dad-to-be — and a long-awaited one at that. “I don’t know the process of it — when it actually happened, what night — but it was special because we was trying for a while,” he explained. “It’s not as easy as people think. For some people, they just go on tour and get everybody pregnant. But for me, it was love. We took our time, and as we were taking our time, it just took a little while.”
Fans of Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood know their struggle well, as they documented it on the VH1 reality show. In the past, Princess Love exclusively opened up to In Touch about her decision to film her fertility journey, telling the mag, “I've always been an open book when it comes to showcasing my life and struggles on camera. I think that it's important to be authentic and real because there are so many people out there who can relate to your situation.”
While they’re clearly happy just to be expecting, Ray wasn’t shy to admit that he would prefer one gender over the other! “I want to have a little girl first because it’s like daddy’s little girl,” he gushed. “A little boy is probably going to be a little aggressive, so I just want to be able to have some peace first. But whatever God blesses us with, I’m happy.”
The couple first sparked pregnancy rumors over the summer. Congrats, you two!
