On What Would Have Been Paul Walker’s 45th Birthday, His Brother Cody And Fans Pay Tribute
Remembering a star. It’s been five years since Paul Walker’s tragic death, and the Fast and the Furious star would have celebrated his 45 years old today. As tribute, fans and celebrities took to social media to share memories and messages to the late actor — and Paul’s brother Cody Walker shared a touching tribute on Instagram.
“You would be 45 today bro. We love you, miss you and try to honor you in the best ways we can. You were generous, thoughtful and a total badass. Always leading by actions rather than words and an inspiration to so many all over the world,” Cody, 30, wrote in his caption. “In honor of Pdub’s birthday, I am excited to announce the 4th annual #Game4Paulonline charity stream set for October 11th. Proceeds support @reachoutwwand its efforts. Check out the link in my bio now or go to www.game4paul.com.”
Meanwhile, fans joined in with their own tributes as well. “Happy 45th birthday to the late Paul Walker! Wishing you were still here with us all. Hope you’re at peace and will always continue to race through our minds,” one fan tweeted, and another wrote, “I still cry EVERYTIME [sic] on Furious 7 when they dedicated the ending to him. Y’all I loved him ever since the first movie. So sad how he died.”
Paul passed away on November 30, 2013, after a Porsche Carrera GT that he was traveling in crashed into a pole in LA and caught fire. According to an investigation conducted by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the car crashed was caused by the amount of speed that the vehicle was traveling at around the time of the crash.
“Investigators determined the cause of the fatal solo-vehicle collision was unsafe speed for the roadway conditions,” Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Commander Mike Parker said in March 2014, according to CNN. The car was traveling in between 80 and 93 MPH and the speed limit is posted at 45 MPH. Paul suffered from injuries and burns from the crash, which ultimately led to his death.
Paul’s daughter, Meadow Rain Walker, filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Porsche, blaming the company for her father’s death because of flaws in the design of the car, according to ABC News, and the case was settled last year.
