Recently, 90 Day Fiancé star Paola Mayfield has been showing off her baby bump on Instagram, but one photo didn’t go over so well with fans. In the pic, the stunning mama-to-be was hanging out on her porch with her pooch, but when fans spotted the dog, they had a few words for her. Apparently, commenters were just bursting with concern (some real, some less so) about having a pit bull around a baby, but Paola wasn’t having any of it. She shut that whole thing down real quick with an epic clap back. Watch the video above to see what she had to say, and don’t forget to subscribe to our YouTube Channel.

That wasn’t all, though. We reached out to the reality star to get the full scoop on what’s going on and how she’s dealing with all the haters. And though she’s coping okay, it definitely seems like the constant criticism is getting to her. We all know how vicious Instagram trolls can be in general, but when it comes to the mommy-shamers, blocking out the haters becomes a whole new feat. Luckily, Paola seems to be taking it all in stride.

“I guess I can’t take a break right?” the TLC star told In Touch. “It is typically something about how I dress, the way I work out, but now this! It’s beyond ridiculous! I can’t believe that people are actually telling me to get rid of my sweet dog. I’m not sure if she has a drop of pit bull blood in her but I wouldn’t care if she did! We have been with Phoebe since Russ and I first got married back in Oklahoma five years ago. She kept me company when Russ was gone for days working in the field. I could never get rid of her, she is family!”

And the fact that she’s family means she’s not going anywhere. It may be an adjustment period, but Paola’s ready to put in the work. “She is the sweetest puppy and easily scared, so to be honest I will be more worried about my dog than my baby adjusting to our new family,” she admitted. “Phoebe doesn’t initially trust people as apparently she was hurt when she was little and quickly cowers but never with any aggression but with us she feels safe and happy! People keep telling me to get rid of her, but that’s like getting rid of someone from your family. And all because you are afraid that something might happen.”

At the end of the day, the soon-to-be-mom knows that it’ll all work out okay — and that there’s plenty of love to go around. “I know my dog and I know she will be protective of my baby as she is with me now!” she shared. We just can’t wait to see the photos of the family all together once the baby is born. Our bet is that Paola’s little one and her pup will be snuggled up in no time.
