Ready for another Litchfield prison term? The return of Netflix's dramedy Orange Is the New Black is only weeks away. In fact, the OITNB Season 6 premiere date is July 27, which gives you time to binge watch Season 5. Or you could just read our recap of the last season below!

WARNING: There are spoilers of Season 5 ahead, but you probably already knew that! If you didn't watch yet, we suggest you do that ASAP!

Season 5 picked up right where Season 4 left off, with the inmates rioting to protest Poussey's death and Caputo's cover-up. Daya shoots CO Humphrey, but he doesn't die until episodes later. The inmates take the rest of the corrections officers hostage, demanding justice for Poussey and better living conditions for themselves. Administrator Linda, meanwhile, escapes detection by posing like an inmate — at the suggestion of Piper and Alex — but her cover is blown when Big Boo finds her phone. Piscatella, who wasn't on duty at the time of the riot, enters the prison and starts holding his own hostages: inmates including Piper, Alex, Boo, Nicky, Blanca, and Red. He tortures them, but Gina covertly records his actions and posts the video online, and then the inmates manage to incapacitate him. When Red frees Piscatella, however, he steps right in to the line of fire of the CERT officers tasked with ending the riot — and one of the CERT officers shoots him in the head, not realizing who he is. Most of the inmates are captured and assigned to various other prisons, and the season ends as the CERT officers close in on the remaining inmates' hideout at the prison's abandoned pool — confronting Alex, Piper, Taystee, Nicky, Red, Black Cindy, Frieda, Suzanne, Blanca, and Gloria. (Oh, and along the way, Alex accepts Piper's marriage proposal, and Morello realizes she's pregnant with husband her husband's baby.)

A Netflix teaser says Season 6 will take the drama "to the max," suggesting the core group of characters is headed for a maximum security facility. "Toward the end of Season 5, there were some people that were agreeing to stick together, and there were some people that were looking out for themselves," Black Cindy portrayer Adrienne C. Moore told The Hollywood Reporter. "We’ll see the repercussions of those decisions in this next season." (Can't wait!)
