Nikki Bella Says She Just Wants John Cena to ‘Find Happiness’ Following Twitter Feud
Nothing but love. Nikki Bella revealed that she just wants the best for her ex-fiancé John Cena following their Twitter feud.
“I literally would pray every day, like all I want him is to be happy and to find happiness. And it’s true,” she told People at the 3rd Annual Best Buddies Mother’s Day Celebration in Malibu on Saturday, May 11. “He’s still so close to my family, and all I ever want is for his happiness. He seems so happy now, and that makes me really happy.”
Even though the former flames are both dating new people — the 35-year-old is seeing her former Dancing With the Stars partner, Artem Chigvintsev, while the 42-year-old was spotted on a date with Shay Shariatzadeh — it seems like the brunette beauty has no regrets. “I’ve loved [seeing him move on],” she said. “I’ve been so happy for him because I think of the decisions that I’ve made … walking away and just needing to find myself because I felt like I lost it.”
Just a few days before, the Total Bellas star and the handsome hunk both wrote cryptic messages on Twitter that seemingly hinted at their relationship. “Beware those who think you owe them happiness at the expense of your own well-being,” the Trainwreck alum wrote on Twitter on May 6.
Then, the following day, the California native tweeted a message that seemingly responded to her ex. “When you don’t give him what he wants, he will delete you, silence you, manipulate you, do what he can to destroy you, but turn that hurt into strength,” she wrote on May 7. “Take the high road and prevail! Happiness can’t be bought, it is priceless. It’s your true secret weapon. N.”
After six years together, the couple decided to call it quits in July 2018. “After I called off the engagement, we tried to work on our relationship to get back to where it was in order to move forward with our wedding,” she told Us Weekly at the time. “After much time and soul-searching alone, and together, we have decided to officially part ways. I had a beautiful and loving six-year relationship with a wonderful man. I have the utmost respect for John, but I know this is what’s best for me.”
However, the Birdiebee designer previously admitted on Total Bellas that seeing the pro-wrestler move on with someone else would be really tough for her. “No matter what, the next time I see him with someone it’s going to kill me,” she confessed.
Ultimately, Nikki has no hard feelings. “He’s one of those people, besides you, Brie, who’s made me an amazing person. But because of how sad and how much I hurt him, when I saw the big smiles on his face, I felt happy for him,” she told her twin sister, Brie Bella, on “The Bellas Podcast” about how she felt when she saw photos of John with his new lady. “I am very happy for him. As long as John is happy, I’m happy.”
