Nikki Bella and Fiance Artem Chigvintsev Gave Their Son the Most Unique Name — Find Out What It Means!
He’s here! Nikki Bella and Artem Chigvintsev’s son has the cutest name with the most special meaning behind it. “Matteo Artemovich Chigvintsev,” the Total Bellas star, 36, captioned the first-ever photo of her little man’s face on Wednesday, August 26.
Matteo, which means Matthew in Italian, is a religious name derived from Hebrew. According to multiple outlets it stands for “Gift of Yahweh” or “Gift of God.” Nikki and the Dancing With the Stars alum, 38, welcomed their son on July 31.
This is the first child for the couple, and they seem over the moon about this new chapter. “Our baby boy is here and we couldn’t be HAPPIER and more in LOVE! Everyone is safe and healthy,” Nikki wrote at the time.
The new parents revealed the sex of their first child by breaking open a piñata during their gender reveal party on the June 11 episode of the E! reality show. “I’m so excited that Nicole and Artem are having a boy,” her sister, Brie Bella, who is pregnant with her second child with husband Daniel Bryan, said in a confessional at the time. “I knew … I really, in my heart, I just felt it for her.”
Like many first-timers, Nikki confessed to feeling a bit uneasy about the big life change. “I honestly, I was looking at Artem last night in bed. I’m like, ‘Artem, in less than three weeks we are going to be parents.’ Actually at this point it’s like 2 and a half weeks,” she said on “The Bellas Podcast” on July 15. “‘We are going to be parents. Are you ready for this? Because I’m getting scared.’”
However, she’s had her sister’s support the whole way. “Nikki and Brie are close, but the fact that they’re both pregnant at the same time has bonded them like never before,” an insider told Life & Style shortly after the identical twins announced their baby news. “Brie’s done it before so Nikki is getting the benefit of having her best friend and sister to lean on for support and pregnancy advice.”
Part of that advice includes accepting your changing body. Nikki previously told Life & Style that her sister’s advice has been valuable but hard to accept at times. “Brie is just constantly reminding me, ‘You’re pregnant. Vanity doesn’t even exist anymore,’ and is trying to just have me be present and appreciate these changes, and it’s tough,” the WWE babe said. “You have no idea how your body is going to adapt, and that’s been really tough on me.”
Nikki and Brie completely rocked their pregnancies. Onto the next chapter!
