After a tough year for the songstress, Rihanna is bursting back onto the music scene with a hot new album, according to her confidante and
frequent collaborator Ne-Yo. “It’s definitely more edgy than the way we’re used to seeing Rihanna. Let’s call it 'liberated,'” Ne-Yo told In Touch at an Alfani and GQ-hosted party for his charity, The Compound Foundation, in New York on October 5. The singer and producer, who is
penning some tunes for the Barbadian beauty as she hits the recording
studio, acknowledges that recent events may have influenced her new style.
“It’s possible!” Ne-Yo added. Rihanna, who in a shocking incident suffered a severe beating by then-boyfriend Chris Brown last February, released her last album of fresh material, Good Girl Gone Bad, in the summer of 2007.
