‘My 600-lb Life’ Star Melissa Struggles to Keep the Weight off After Her Surgery
Sometimes life just gets in the way. Melissa D. Morris had one of the most inspiring My 600-lb Life weight loss transformations, but she hasn't had much success keeping it off. Last May, Melissa allowed TLC cameras into her life once more for an update on how she's progressed in her weight loss journey 10 years after her surgery. When fans caught up with her, she was struggling to return to her goal weight of 150 pounds, and at the time she weighed in at 275 pounds.
"Before I lost the weight, I was miserable and barely living life," Melissa said in her confessional. "And my dream was to have kids."
Weight loss allowed her to finally achieve her dreams and she had two adorable children — a daughter named Alana and a son named Eli. Before her surgery, Melissa weighed 653 pounds and after bypass, she lost nearly 500 pounds and got down to 157 pounds — but she has since regained more than 100 pounds after her two pregnancies.
"I didn't realize how hard it was gonna be when you have kids and have food for them around you all day long. When I was pregnant with Alana, it was a little easier because I didn't have to feed another child. But when I was pregnant with Eli, having cravings while I was fixing her snacks and meals was hard to resist."
In her My 600-lb Life update, Melissa also revealed that she took in her nephew Corey and niece Nia, so she's constantly surrounding herself with food that she shouldn't be eating. But now, in 2018, it looks like Melissa is still trying to find balance in her life as a busy mom. Judging from her recent social media posts, she's been slowly working on reaching her goal and she even shared some of her own tips and tricks to losing weight on her blog.
