All the Times Michelle Duggar Made Her Kids’ Important Moments All About Her

When Anna had her first pregnancy and Michelle was like, "Hey, I'm pregnant, too."

When Josh's wife Anna was pregnant for the first time with Mackynzie, an important milestone for any new mom, she unfortunately had to share the limelight with Michelle, who was pregnant with baby No. 19, Josie. I'm sure Anna loved that.

When Michelle tried to upstage her own daughter at her wedding.

On Jessa's wedding day, Jim Bob was overwhelmed when he first saw his daughter in a wedding dress. While showering her with compliments, Michelle stood to the side looking weirdly silent. To accommodate his attention-starved wife, Jim Bob then turned around and started talking to her about how similar she looked to Jessa.

"You and Jessa look like twins," he said. "You both are raving beauties. You look like sisters." After the nauseating compliments, he then planted a kiss on Michelle while Jessa awkwardly stood to the side watching — not like it was her day or anything.

After the weird battle for compliments with Jim Bob, Jessa went on to have a gorgeous ceremony. However, instead of kissing at the altar, she and Ben shared their first kiss away from the audience. When they returned to the stage, their friends and family encouraged the newlyweds to give a smooch. For some reason, both Michelle and Jim Bob took this as a signal that people wanted to see them kiss. What followed was a weird kiss-off that must've felt just as awkward for Jessa as it felt for us to watch it.

When Michelle made Joy-Anna's birthday all about her.

Birthdays are a big deal at the Duggar house. With 19 kids running around, birthdays are the only days each kid gets special one-on-one time with their parents (sad, we know). For Joy-Anna's 12th birthday, she got to enjoy a dinner at a restaurant. While Jim Bob praised her, he then turned around to Michelle (because she can never be left out of the spotlight) and thanked her for "birthing" Joy-Anna. They then had a smooch session at their little girl's birthday party. How lovely and totally not awkward.

When Michelle made Jason's birthday all about her neat rollerskating skills.

In another birthday upstage, Jason was treated to a party at a rollerskating rink. When producers asked him about his skating skills, he said, "I can skate, but I'm not great at it." A few minutes later, the cameras were on Michelle as she zipped around the rink like a pro. It turned out she used to be a speed skater in high school. As for Jason, despite it being his party, he continued looking like he wanted to be elsewhere. Perhaps they chose the skating rink for Michelle, not Jason?

After Jessa tied the knot with Ben Seewald, she ruffled fans' feathers when she shared this racy photo of them lip-locked in a passionate kiss. But not to be outmatched, Michelle took her own version of Jessa's photo and texted it to her daughter. The next day, Jessa shared her parents' version of her pic with the caption, "My parents texted me this picture! This year marks 30 years of marriage!" Weird.
