Sister Wives star Meri Brown’s entire world was rocked when she began an online relationship with someone she thought was a man — but turned out to be a woman in disguise.
And in a preview for upcoming special — Catching the Catfisher — the 45-year-old opens up about what it was like to receive threats from her online “catfish.”
“There would always be something that interrupted that,” Meri says of attempted to meet “Sam,” who was actually a woman named Jackie Overton.
Eventually, “Sam” arranged for Meri to meet “his” friend “Lindsay.”
“There was some excuse why he couldn’t, but she showed up. I was not comfortable around her,” Meri explains. “I just got the creeps from her. But I’m sitting here trying to be nice for her, because this is a friend of his… She basically told me, ‘Don’t ever screw with us. Don’t mess with him. Don’t hurt him. I will ruin your life. And I will ruin your family.’”
For more on Meri’s nightmare, tune in to Catching the Catfisher this Sunday at 9 p.m. on TLC!
